QuickExplore/QuickExploreC for Windows 95 Copyright 1996 Mike Turner, GumbaTree software All Rights Reserved QuickExplore ============ A little utility which (primarily) gives you access to all the drives on your system from the Windows 95 task bar notification area. It currently features... From the left mouse button: *** A list of drives on the system From the right mouse button: *** A list of drives on the system via a sub-menu *** Open the contents of your desktop folder (non-system items) as a window. This saves having to minimize all open windows to gain access to the desktop. *** Access to the Save Settings On Exit feature that we all loved in previous versions of Windows. This means that you can CHOOSE when to save the layout of your desktop. Once you have achieved your ideal desktop layout, turn the switch off and future closure of Windows will leave your desktop alone until you turn the switch back on again. *** Customize QuickExplore option *** Access to the printer properties for the default printer *** Up to ten custom applications which may be chosen using the Customize QuickExplore option Version History =============== Version 2.1.1.0 - Fixed memory allocation problem. Version 2.1.0.0 - Add separators to drive menu. Show selection on drive list moving up/down. Add option to access printer properties for the default printer. Add option to run QuickExplore at Windows startup. (This will only work correctly if QuickExplore and QuickExploreC are in the same folder) Version 2.0.0.0 - Added QuickExploreC and all associated features to QuickExplore. Version 1.x - Initial release with subsequent later bits here and there. Installation ============ Unzip the QE.ZIP member into a temporary folder. Create a new folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\QuickExplore) and move QuickExplore.exe and QuickExploreC.exe into it. Run QuickExplore.exe to place it on the task bar - it can be automatically loaded at Windows startup through an option in QuickExploreC. NOTE: This product required MFC40.DLL in your Windows/System folder. Disclaimer ========== QuickExplore is a SHAREWARE program, which does not mean that it is free.
